Normally I would call this a dreary, rainy day but now that I am retired and my life has slowed down, I call this day a blessing. I embrace the opportunity to be able to spend this time with myself, enjoying the quiet, enjoying my books and my writing. I love that the grass, shrubs, and flowers are growing. It is good for my soul.


During the pandemic, when I needed to escape the confines of my isolation, I drove all over Pa. to photograph covered bridges. The beauty of the landscape, the blessing of the creativity God gave those who built these amazing structures, and my connection to nature were good for my soul.
